LEARN THE REWARDS OF HARD WORK
The Culinary Arts Pathway at Sunnyside is for juniors and seniors who are interested in learning about and pursuing an exciting food-related career.
This is a rigorous and challenging pathway for students who are punctual, have a good work ethic, and want to work every day.
It’s not unusual for culinary students to come in early or during their lunch breaks for more study time. Students must be at least 16 years old to be able to participate in job placement and shadowing.
They receive the training necessary for future ServSafe certification, a requirement for those who work in the kitchen.
GET HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITH REAL CHEFS
Students enrolled in the Culinary Arts Pathway can expect plenty of hands-on experience, plus the chance to be creative and collaborate with others in the program.
Students also get to learn more by working off-site, often receiving training from real chefs in professional settings.
DISCOVER A SATISFYING CAREER
The goal of the Culinary Arts Pathway is to have graduating seniors admitted to a college or culinary institute, or working in the food industry, upon graduation.
Students who have completed the program have gone on to study at culinary institutes across the country and have found rewarding careers doing what they love.
